《HOW TO PLAY》

And the nitty-gritty ...

  • Your answer
    • You can't answer with the same word twice.
    • That means you have to keep coming up with new words to progress in the game.
    • If you use a word you used before, the time counter will not reset and you won't get points. You will get to keep the alphabets in the answer panel though.
  • Words you can use
    • In this game, your answer is checked against a database of 25,000 common words taken from everyday conservations and essays.
    • Due to the small number of people maintaining this game, it is impossible to include every single word found in everyday English. We are sure there is a lot of room for improvement in the word database. If you found words that feel should be included, we would be more than happy to hear from you.
    • One more thing, you can't use conjugate forms of nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in this game. However, you can use irregular conjugates.
  • Time limit
    • The further you progress in the game, the shorter the time you have.
    • Pay attention to the shorten time limit for the last 5 words in each stage.
  • Life count
    • If you can't answer within the time limit, or if you use the "Hint", "Sort" and "Refresh" buttons, one life count will be taken away.
    • It is possible to increase your life count as well. To do that, you have to answer with words made up of at least 7 alphabets. You only get an extra life count the first time your answer is 7 alphabets or longer.
    • When your life count is down to 0, you cannot use the "Hint", "Sort", or "Refresh" button.
  • Score
    • You get more points when the time limit is shorter.
    • The longer the word, the more points you get. A difference in 1 or 2 alphabets in word length can result in a large point difference.
  • Special buttons
    • By clicking the "Hint" button, a list of words you can make with the alphabets in the 25-panel is displayed in exchange for one life count.
    • By clicking the "Sort" button, the alphabets in the 25-panel is rearranged in alphabetical order and kept for 30 seconds. In return, one life count is deducted.
    • By clicking the "Refresh" button, all of the alphabets in the 25-panel are replaced with new ones. This will also cost you one life count.
